The process of saving water for future utilization is known as water conservation. The principal source of fresh water is rain and is considered to be the purest form. The other sources of water is river, streams, lakes, ponds and also ocean. With Increase in population and erratic agricultural activities, The quality and quantity of water have declined. Since water is the most important component to human survival and all other commercial, agricultural activities, it is essential to conserve the water resources.
Need for Water Conservation :
1. Though the Resources of water are more, the quality and reliability are not high due to changes in environmental factors.
2. Better lifestyles require more fresh water.
3. As the population increases, the requirement of water is also water.
4. Due to deforestation, the annual rainfall is also decreasing.
5. Over exploitation of ground water, leads to drought.
6. Agricultural and industrial activities require more fresh water.
