Thermodynamics Shaft Work Transfer

 When a Shaft , taken as the system, is rotated by a motor, there is work transfer into the system. This is   because the shaft can rotate a pulley which can raise a weight. If  T  is the torque applied to the shaft and d0 is the angular displacement of the shaft, the shaft work is

W = lim (2 to 1 ) T d0

W = Tw

where w is the angular velocity and T is considered a constant in this case.
